On Thursday, June 15, 2023, Toluca International Airport and the National Polytechnic Institute (IPN) signed a collaboration agreement that will drive the transformation of Mexico’s aviation sector by strengthening partnerships with AIFA and, now, with AIT.

The IPN will contribute its greatest strengths in technological development and aeronautical research to Toluca International Airport (AIT) through students and graduates trained in aerospace-related fields at the Centers for Scientific and Technological Studies (Cecyt); the Higher School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering (Esime) Ticomán Unit and the Interdisciplinary Professional Engineering Unit, Guanajuato Campus (Upiig), as well as the Center for Aerospace Development (CDA).

This was formalized with the signing of a general collaboration agreement by IPN Director General Arturo Reyes Sandoval and AIT Airport Administrator Hugo Alberto Delgado Ortega.

The agreement, which will last for three years, includes mutually beneficial initiatives such as social service and professional internships by Polytechnic students—an essential component of their education that allows them to give back to society the benefits of the educational services they have received.

The CEO and airport administrator, Hugo Alberto Delgado Ortega, stated that this agreement is rooted in the vision and commitment of both institutions to bring economic and administrative projects—spanning various fields of engineering, social development, and the environment—to the business and professional worlds.

He noted that this partnership aims to equip future graduates with better tools to navigate the competitive and demanding business and professional worlds.
