Traveling with pets
Pets are welcome, but they must remain in their carriers during their stay at the airport.
To travel with a pet on board, passengers must review each airline’s guidelines to ensure their pet travels comfortably and safely.
Some recommendations:
Have your pet’s documents on hand
An official health certificate and a complete, valid vaccination record.
Present the boarding pass of the owner
Or the person responsible for the pet.
Regarding guide dogs, service animals, or therapy animals
They are permitted if you present certificates attesting to their therapeutic or working functions.
For international flights
Comply with SAGARPA SENASICA guidelines for the Animal Health Certificate for import or export.
You may bring one animal per carrier
Except for puppies between 16 and 24 weeks old, in which case you may bring up to two, provided they are mobile.
Regarding the carrier
It must not have a perforated bottom or wheels.
If traveling with protected birds
The carrier must not have a perforated floor or wheels.
5 days prior to the flight
Do not vaccinate, deworm, or subject your pet to any surgical procedures.
Don't forget to check with your airline regarding the guidelines and restrictions for traveling with pets:
Make sure the approved pet carrier has adequate ventilation (preferably on all four sides).
Your pet must be able to move around inside the carrier.
It can be a soft (fabric) or hard (plastic) carrier, as long as it meets the airline’s size and other requirements.
